Jacques Villeneuve is a professional racing driver and currently competes in the NASCAR. The racing legend has competed in a number of Driving Championship. He is only one of three people to win the CART Championship, the Indianapolis 500 and Formula One World Championship. The other two are Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Villeneuve was raised in Monaco by his mother and father, F1 driver Gilles Villeneuve. Jacques’s uncles, Jacques Sr, was also a successful racing driver. His father Gilles, raced for Ferrari and won six Grand Prix, finishing runner up in the 1979 Championship. He tragically lost his life in 1982 when he was killed in qualifying at the Belgian Grand Prix. Despite this, Jacques would go on to follow in his father’s footsteps in 1984. His mother gave him permission so long as he got good grades in his weakest subject, Maths.

Jacques competed in the CART Indy Car World Series in 1994. He also came 2nd at Indianapolis 500 and would go on to win it in 1995. His strong performances were noticed by Frank Williams, MD of the Williams F1 Grand Prix team. He was signed by Williams for the 1996 season and made an impressive debut at the Australian Grand Prix. He took pole position and would eventually finish 2nd to teammate Damon Hill. Villeneuve remained in Formula 1 until 2006 also racing for the likes of Lucky Strike, Renault, BMW and British American Racing.

Away from F1, he raced in Le Mans, Speedcar, Top Race V6, V8 Supercars, FIA World Rallycross, Formula E and NASCAR. He is also an amateur musician and has appeared in a number of TV commercials.
