Davor Suker is an influential figure in Croatian football. He was president of the Croatian Football Federation for almost 10 years and is one of the best Croatian footballers of all time. If not the best. The football legend is on the list of 100 great footballers of all time, as recognised by FIFA. Suker is the top goal scorer for his country with 45 goals. He led his country to the World Cup semi-final in 1998, eventually winning the bronze medal. It took the eventual French champions to knock Croatia out. Suker won the Golden Boot in that tournament, scoring six goals. This was particularly impressive considering it was Croatia’s first appearance at a World Cup Finals. He would go one better in 2018 when he led his country to the World Cup Final as president. The Croatian legend is a national hero and is extremely popular across the football community.
