Ole Gunnar Solskjaer originates from Norway and is most recognised for his time at Man United. He spent the vast majority of his playing career with the reds. The Norweigan would then go on to manage the club following retirement. Ole joined United in 1996 and quickly obtained the nickname ‘the baby-faced assassin’, due to his youthful looks and ability to score goals. He made over 350 appearances for the club, scoring 126 times. The United legend was known for his ability to change a game by coming on as a substitute. His most famous substitute appearance was in the 1999 Champions League final when he scored the winner, deep inside injury time. This is arguably his most memorable moment for United. He also won six Premier League titles at United along with two FA Cups.
A firm fan’s favourite, Ole stayed on at the club in a coaching role and then managed the reserve team. He left the club in 2011 and then returned again as caretaker manager in 2018. After a successful stint, he was awarded the job on a permanent basis in March 2019. He left the club two years later following a run of bad performances.
