Roberto Carlos is a former footballer, now working as a global football ambassador. Carlos is widely regarded as the best left-back in world football. He started his career as a striker in Brazil so he naturally had an attack-minded approach to the game. This made him the most offensive left-back in the history of football. He was also a free-kick expert with the ability to bend the ball at great speed. His swerving shots have been recorded at over 105 mph.

Carlos started his career at Brazilian size Uniao Sao Joao before moving to Palmerias. He moved to Europa joining the Italian side Inter Milan in 1995. The football legend excelled in Italy which earned him a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 1996. He was a first team regular throughout his time in Madrid and spent 11 hugely successful seasons there. Carlos made 584 appearances for the club, scoring an impressive 71 goals from defence. He won numerous honours including 4 La Liga titles, 3 UEFA Champions League titles amongst others. Marca named Carlos in their best foreign XI in Real Madrid’s History. He left Madrid in 2007 to join Turkish side, Fenerbahce. Carlos would later move back to Brazil to play for Corinthians and then on to Russian side Anzhi and India side Delhi Dynamos.

The Brazilian superstar made 125 appearances for the Brazil national team, scoring 11 goals along the way. Carlos played in three different FIFA World Cup tournaments, four Copa Americas and the Olympic Games. He retired from football at the age of 39 and entered into football management. Carlos has had brief spells with four teams.
