The Chile National Football team is referred to as La Roja (the Red One).  They are managed by the Federacion de Futbol de Chile.  They play in a red jersey, blue shorts and white socks.  They play their home matches at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos in Santiago.  It has hosted four Copa America Finals and the final of the 1962 World Cup, where 76,000 attended.

Their main rivals are Argentina and Puma, although they are not as heated as the Argentina against Brazil rivalry.  Chile vs Argentia is the most played fixture for the national team.  They have beaten Argentina 6 times out of the 90 games played, of which only 1 was an official competitive game.  The Chile vs Peru game is known as the Clasico del Pacifico, the Pacific Derby.  It is considered to be in the top ten football rivalries in the world, with its roots in border disputes and politics.

They hosted the Copa America in 2015 and also won the competition that year.  They won it again the following year when it was held in the USA.  They came 4th in 2019 when it was held in Brazil.  It is due to be held in Columba and Argentina in 2010.

Alexis Sanchez holds the record for most caps with 132 appearances to-date.  He also holds the record for most goals with 43 goals scored.  Other famous players include goalkeeper Claudio Bravo who also plays for Man City, and Arturo Vidal who plays for Barcelona.  Both players have over 100 caps for Chile.
