The Ukraine National football team is governed by the Ukrainian Association of Football.  They play their home games at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

The most capped player in Ukrainian International Football is Anatoliy Tymoshchuk with 144 caps between 2000 and 2016.  He has scored 4 goals.  The second most capped player is Andriy Shevchenko with 111 caps between 1995 and 2012.  Shevchenko is arguably the most famous Ukrainian football player.  He is also the top goalscorer for Ukraine with 48 goals, averaging a goal every 0.43 games.  Andriy Yarmolenko has the same goals to game ratio with 37 goals from 86 caps.

Andriy Shevchenko is also the most capped player as captain with 58 Captain Caps, followed by Anatoliy Tymoshchuk with 41 Captain Caps.  Andriy Pyatov is the current captain for Ukraine.

Ukraine played their first game in 1992 following the country’s Independence and break away from the Soviet Union.  Ukraine co-hosted the UEFA Euro 2012 along with Poland.  The final of the tournament was held at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.  Spain beat Italy 4-0 in the final
