Falkirk Football Club currently compete in the Scottish League One. Although the exact date of its formation is not known for sure, it is said to be around 1876. In its early days, Falkirk played at a number of different venues. These included Hope Street, Randyford Park, and Blinkbonny Park. Between the late 19th century and 2003, Falkirk played at Brockville Park. Brockville Park didn’t meet the Scottish Premier League stadium criteria. This meant the club were unable to be promoted a number of times because their ground failed the criteria. This did force the club to build a new all-seater stadium to meet the league’s stadium criteria. They now play their home games at Falkirk Stadium on the edge of town. It holds 8,000 fans.

The club has won numerous honours. These include the Scottish Cup in 1913 and then again in 1957. They have been on the losing side in the Final on three occasions, the last being in 2015. Falkirk have won the Scottish Challenge Cup a record four times. The last time they won the Cup, was in 2012. Falkirk have won the 2nd tier of Scottish Football 7 times, which is a record. They also competed in the UEFA Europa League in 2009-2010.
