Sergio Ramos is widely acknowledged as one of the best defenders in football. The Spanish superstar has won virtually everything there is to win in football. He played for Real Madrid for 16 seasons, 6 of which he played as captain. During his time with the Spanish giants, he won 5 La Liga titles, 4 UEFA Champions Leagues, 4 FIFA Club World Cups, 3 EUFA Super Cups plus numerous domestic trophies in Spain. In addition to this, he has won the FIFA World Cup with Spain in 2010 and the UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012. He is the most capped player in the history of the Spanish game with 180 caps
He started his career with Seville and moved to Madrid in 2005 for a then-record for a Spanish defender. He started out as a centre back and then moved across to right-back. Ramos is renowned for his goalscoring and scored numerous important goals for Madrid, including a 93rd-minute equaliser in the 2014 Champions League Final.
Ramos has won countless individual awards and holds countless records. These include disciplinary records, such is his passion for the game and his aggression. He signed for the French club Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021 and continues to play the Spanish national team.
