If you’re looking for genuine snooker memorabilia you’ve come to the right place!

Snooker is a sport played with a cue on a flat felted table. British Army offices first played the sport when they were stationed in India during the second half of the 19th century. The table is rectangle-shaped with a green cloth and six pockets, placed in each corner and two in the middle of the table.

The players take it in turns to hit the white ball with a cue stick. The players will need to pot 21 snooker balls in a correct sequence, scoring points for each pot. Whoever scores the most point will win the frame, which is an individual game of snooker. The overall match is won by the player who has won the most pre-determined number of frames.

The term snooker was initially a derogatory term to describe inexperienced military personnel. It was considered a gentleman’s sport in the UK until the 1960s. From there it grew in popularity and became a national pastime and expanded overseas. The World Snooker Championship started in 1927 and continues to this day. Key figures in the game include Joe Davis who won 15 successive championships from 1927 to 1946. Modern-day snooker legends include Steve Davis, Ray Reardon, Stephen Hendry and Ronnie Sullivan.
