The Falcons play in the top tier of English Rugby Union. Newcastle Falcons play in the prestigious Premiership Rugby league. They play at Kingston Park which holds over 10,000 spectators and is renowned for its electric atmosphere. The club were founded almost 150 years ago in 1877 and has undertaken a number of name changes in it’s history. It was originally founded as Gosforth Football Club.
They are one of the giants of the game and have won a number of major trophies along the way. Most notably, in 1998 they won one of the biggest honours in English rugby union, the Premiership. This elevated the club’s status and makes items such as signed Newcastle Falcon signed shirts in high demand. This season they will take part in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
