Dragons RFC are a Welsh professional rugby union club. They are one of only four pro rugby union clubs in Wales. The club cover a large part of the southwest of Wales. They are under ownership by the Welsh Rugby Union. Parts of Wales that the club represent includes a population of over half a million people. To support the growth of the club, there are a number of semi-pro feeder clubs who are affiliated with the Dragons.
The Dragons play their home games at Rodney Parade in Newport. It is a fairly tight ground with a capacity of just less than 10,000. The club competes in the United Rugby Championship with other teams from the likes of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and South Africa. They also play in the European Rugby Champions Cup, although they haven’t progressed far in it as yet. Dragons either play in black or white strips, with black being their preferred home strip.
