The Ospreys are a pro rugby team from Wales. There are only currently four Welsh professional rugby union teams. They were originally formed from the merger of Swansea RFC and Neath RFC to create the Neath-Swansea Ospreys. Ospreys are also affiliated with a number of semi-pro and amateur clubs in the region. This regional area is known as ‘Ospreylia’ for rugby purposes and is a great feeder area for the Ospreys.

Ospreys are the most successful Welsh team in the Celtic League winning the competition on four occasions. The league is also known as the PRO12 league The Ospreys currently compete in the PRO14 and the European Champions Cup. They were officially formed in 2003 and play their home games at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. They share the 20,827 all-seater stadium with the Swansea City football team. The Ospreys play their home matches in a black strip, with the away games being played in white and orange. The logo is an Osprey mask.

The record try scorer is Shane Williams with 57 tries. Dan Biggar is the overall top scorer with 2,203 points. Alun Wyn Jones has played the most matches for Ospreys with 245 appearances.
