Bjorn Borg is one of the most well-known faces in the history of tennis. He turned professional in 1973 and retired twice, once in 1984 and then again in 1993. He is estimated to have won almost $4 million in prize money throughout his career. Borg won 11 Grand Slam singles titles. These included five consecutive Wimbledon titles between 1976 and 1980 and six French Open titles between 1974 and 1981. The tennis great reached four US Open finals but didn’t manage to add a US Open title to his collection.
He set numerous records along the way and was ATP Player of the Year between 1976 and 1980. Borg achieved 66 career titles in total and had a win ratio of 82.4%, winning 654 matches. He also had four doubles career titles, none of which were a Grand Slam, however. The Swedish star led his country to a Davis Cup victory in 1975.
